Those moments when you think to yourself, "WT heck?"

Daniel and Smokey.
(Daniel is the human bean.
Smokey, apparently, is the dog.)
Lindsay sent me this picture, apparently assuming I know what's going on.
I don't.
I'm not sure if that's our dog, or if they're pet-sitting, or if they grabbed the neighbor's dog for a picture, or what.
So, this might be my dog. Oh, the things they never tell you when you're not home. . .

paying attention

Have you ever watched little kids running around? I am fascinated with how they glory in just being a little body. [I'm talking about human kids and goat kids; they're awfully similar in this regard.] They climb up things, just so they can jump off. Then rolling in the grass, or sand, or puddles. . . they just love being inside their own skin.

I like how God knew what he was doing in his Creation gambit. He knew how delightful we'd find it to live and move and hug and dance and kiss and fall, just being inside our bodies. Wheee!

Before the Throne of God Above

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
a great High Priest, whose name is Love,
who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on his hands,
my name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
no tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
and tells me of the guilt within,
upward I look, and see him there
who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
my sinful soul is counted free;
for God, the Just, is satisfied
to look on him and pardon me.

Behold him there! the risen Lamb!
My perfect, spotless Righteousness,
the great unchangeable I AM,
the King of glory and of grace!
One with himself, I cannot die;
my soul is purchased by his blood;
my life is hid with Christ on high,
with Christ, my Savior and my God.
